Why horses need osteopaths
As owners, trainers and friends judging the level of pain or discomfort that a horse experiences; can be a challenge.
We rely on behavioural signs:
- Tail swishing when saddling
- Resistance to work
Supressing signs of pain are also an evolved survival strategy in prey animals, such as horses because it hides vulnerability in the presence of predators.
We work with each patient as a unique individual. Taking into account herd dynamics, traumas, memories, injuries and experiences which may effect a presenting complaint.
